How To Get Involved
Coaches are appointed to Willoughby United teams at
the beginning of each season. If you are interested in
coaching, you can nominate when registering or feel free
to get in contact with me anytime. Coaching is both
rewarding and enjoyable, however there are also some
expectations when volunteering as a Willoughby United
Netball Coach:
- Be a good role model for players
- Show enthusiasm and enjoyment – make it fun!
- Be self-confident, assertive, consistent,
friendly and competent
- Ensure the safety of players at all times
- Have fun and treat each player fairly
- Prepare training sessions so that participants
are actively involved
- Remember it’s not all about winning!
Coaching Courses
Netball Australia’s current coaching consists of four
levels of courses:

Orientation to Coaching –
Targeted at beginners in clubs and schools who are
coaching children in Fun Net, Netta and junior
netball

Level 1 - Targeted at beginner
coaches, providing participants with an introduction
to the fundamentals of coaching including basic
skill development

Level 2 and 3 - Targeted at
coaches, who wish to advance their coaching
knowledge
